Monique and I took a motorcycle vacation this past summer,
riding over 3000 miles from Washington state, down the Pacific Coast to
southern California, to Yosemite and Lake Tahoe, then back to Seattle.
Monique loading up - we rode from Seattle west to the Pacific coast then turned south - we spent the first night camping at Cape Lookout Oregon. Cape Meares Light House, view of the coast line Cape Meares Light House view Cape Meares Light House view Cape Blanco Light House, we camped at the State park here Loaded up, we spent the 3rd night in Cloverdale 60 miles north of San Francisco We spent 2 nights and 3 days in San Simeon - went to Hurst Castle and visited with Moniques brother Rene and Dawn We had plenty of room in the tent, our home away from home This is the house the boys and I lived at in Merced California - the 'green house' in 1985 We road east from San Simeon, through Merced California to Yosemite, and spent 3 days and 2 nights in the park The Merced River in Yosemite This is how you wash your socks in the Merced River Monique's friends, we were relaxing on the river and they thought a snack was close at hand This was the fire season, smoke coming across the valley The next morning smoke from the San Jose fire had dropped down into the Valley floor The Topaz Lake motorcycle ralley - on a drink break in Markleeville Rick and Caudia - Lake Tahoe On the streets of Virginia City On our way on a Poker Run, we ran across the helicopters used for the wild fire fighting The oldest saloon in California
